The Amber Difference

“We have referred a number of young people over the last three years and have been impressed by Amber's willingness to look sympathetically at referrals for a range of young people. On almost all occasions a placement has been offered and Amber staff have done everything to enable young people to be successful when placed. Indeed the successes with some particularly challenging young people has been remarkable.”   - Ben Byrne, Head of Youth Justice, Surrey Youth Justice Service(YOT)
Our approach is based on helping the individual, not just on tackling specific issues such as unemployment, offending or homelessness. So, young people find everything they need to turn their lives around under one roof.

We provide structure and boundaries so young people know exactly where they stand. They may try and push those boundaries but for many, that is what they want and what has been lacking in their lives.

Amber becomes a young person's temporary home where they feel safe and supported and where they not only have the support of dedicated staff, but the support of their peers too.

We are residential and days and evenings are filled with positive confidence building experiences, so young people can see they can have fun, make friends, learn and be proud of themselves without the need to get drunk, commit crime or take drugs.

There is no limit on how long someone stays, so long as they are progressing and moving forward we will give them all the time, encouragement a space they need to transform their lives.
